Unlock Bootloader Of Any HTC Device

How To Unlock Bootloader Of HTC Devices ( Work's On All HTC Devices)

After locking down the bootloader from HTC devices in 2011, The company faced strong community back-flash which led the company to release a web-based bootloader unlocking tool to appease users. Since that time the bootloader of any Android Device by the HTC (except those variants that were sold in the United States "US") can be easily and completely unlocked in just few simple steps. You've unable to gain root access of any HTC Android device without unlocking the bootloader. The process of unlocking the bootloader is very easy and simple and its maximum take 5 minutes to completely unlocking the bootloader  so, Here we go!
Before you proceed keep few thing in mind that unlocking the bootloader will erase all the internal memory of device so it's highly recommended that you have to make a backup of your all personal data, like photos, videos and contacts and the other thing that you have to know is that unlocking the bootloader will avoid it's warranty the company HTC isn't strict in enforcing this rule. So, you might be lucky if you ever send you device for repair while it's in warranty, but from technical view your warrant will be avoid so you want be able to get free repairs from HTC company
If you're agree and happy with this then lets go.

1- First make sure that you have all the drivers required in unlocking bootloader if you're running windows. you can either install the HTC sync on your windows so in turn the HTC Sync will automatically install the required drivers or you can download the drivers manually From Here and keep in mind that you have to download and install both HTC sync and Drivers. It should work fine and smoothly on windows 7 and 8
Mac or Linux Users don't have to download the files just simply skip this step
2- now you'll have to get your hands on the required ADB/Fastboot files. Here i am sharing a small ZIP file which contains all the required files for all three platforms, so you don't have to download the whole SDK.

Windows - Download
Mac - Download
Linux - Download

3- Extract the files from the .rar so you can get a folder named as "Platform Tools" then go to start menu click on RUN and type CMD in the run and then press Enter button Then in CMD type the folder name "platform-tools" ( make sure that the folder is on you desktop)
Linux and mac user's also have to do the same thing on a terminal window
this command take you to the Platform Tools folder which is on your desktop and if you are getting an error saying the folder ro directory does not exist then you'll have to navigate to your user folder first by entering the following comand in the CMD " cd username [ you've to enter the name of your computer's username] if this commands work then repeat the first command again to navigate to the platform-tools folder on your desktop
4- Before you proceed you have to put your HTC device in the bootloader mode, First make sure that you've disabled the fastboot mode from your cell phone setting, Go to your phone setting then go to power and then de-select the fast boot option.

after this switch off your cell phone and after that  press the power button while pressing the volume down key down it will takes you to the HTC boot menu (if it doesn't work re-place you cellphone battery take the battery out and the put it again)
when you've reached in the HTC boot menu use the volume keys to navigate up and down and the navigate to the Fastboot option and press the power button to select
5-now connect the you HTC device to your Pc and the CMD that you've opened type the following commands in it
On Windows
type: fastboot
On Mac/Linux
type: ./fastboot devices

the command you've entered in the windows or mac/linux are the same. The only thin you'll need to prefix is "./" before every command on Mac/Linux don't foget this in the upcoming steps or otherwise you'll get errors. So at this point if you've done all the thing perfectly and done doing all the steps properly then you should get and output like this
6- Now you have to head over to the HTC's Developers Website to get your "Identifier Token" before unlocking the bootloader. If you don't have an account there then create and account and after that select the Bootloader option.
7- Select you device from the menu on the website and if you phone is not listed in the menu there then you should have to select all other supported models option. This include recent devices of HTC like 'HTC One'
8- Simply accept all the warnings and agreements and keep going forward by pressing the next button after reaching to the Step 8, enter the following command in the command prompt
fastboot oem get_identifier_token
select and copy the output you get from the CMD or Terminal to a notepad file
you all need from the output is just the random series of numbers and alphabets from the output you just copied. So remove everything else there such as <<, (bootloader), ifo or any other piece of text and the most important don't Edit the Identifier Token Start or End line though. Now pasted the edited output inside the my identifier token box on the HTC Developer Website and the submit it by pressing the submit button.
With in few minutes you'll get an email from the HTC containing an unlock_code.bin file which is specific to your phone.
Download that file and move that file in the platform-tools folder on your desktop.
9. Now Enter the Following Command in CMD or Terminal
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
10- After entering this command, a popup screen will come to your HTC cell phone asking you "you really want to unlock the bootloader or not" then select the YES option by Using the volume key and the press the power button to select.
Now your phone bootloader is fully unlocked and it will automatically restart. The first boot maybe take some time so be easy and be patient now you can proceed to root you device or directly able to flash a custom ROM.
